Here's some work I did for this week in the canyons during landscape painting class. I tried getting the values and colors to read well so I ran a noise > median filter over the whole thing to see how it turned out.. not too shabby

I've been teaching a summer sketching workshop with the Institute of Educational Advancement and Art Center College of Design, and it's been eating up my time this week, but here are the sketches due for landscape. The idea this week is to convey photorealistic values while using graphics. Photos were observed from Communication Arts Photography Annual magazine.

A one hour speed painting done in class Topic: A medieval castle on a hill..trying to apply what I've learned with dramatic light in an env. of my own design.

These two images were done on the last day of Viscom 5 with Bob Kato, he let us try any medium we'd been wondering about, so I chose to try digital. The ole pen and tablet combo. Since we didnt have too much time, I chose to try and work only with value.


This character was created for Originality in Design with Nick Pugh. He was derivitive of creating a unique form language based on the way cells split and divide.

This was my first color landscape painting piece done week 3 of Digital Landscape painting with Robh Ruppel.
After watching cars of course...just couldn't get it out of my head! My first 1hr timed speed paint! Week 6 of Digital Landscape painting.
When the tough gets going, the going gets bored and draws in his sketchbook. These are a series of images I created in my time off, when I couldn't concentrate on classwork =P

This image was created for Character Design 2. We were asked to do insectoids, so I looked to the smallest class I could, and here's the design of a bubblegum dweller. (in the dish, how many pieces, do you pick?)
